Sedale Turbovsky is the founder and CEO of Modern Zen Strategies, an AI-native holding company and strategic consultancy that builds ventures across SaaS, government technology, and the creator economy. He also founded OpenGrants (opengrants.io), the largest open grant discovery platform in the U.S., used by nonprofits, small businesses, and government entities. Under his leadership, OpenGrants has grown largely on the back of AI agents that run its sales, content, and support.
Sedale's work rests on what he calls the Village Thesis: code is easy to copy, so distribution and relationships are the moat that lasts. He writes about AI, the future of work, and human flourishing through the Modern Zen newsletter and podcast. A former river guide, he is based in the Sacramento area.
